Beef with Mushroom Wine Sauce

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound Beef Bottom Round Steak
  • 1 cup wine
  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinaigrette
  • 6 Tablespoons butter
  • 1 Tablespoon sugar (optional)
  • 1/4 cup Shallot/onion, chopped
  • 6-8 ounces Bella mushrooms, sliced

Equipment

  • 1 frypan
  • 1 spatula
  • 1 set of measuring cups
  • 1 Kitchen knife
  • 1 Cutting board
  • 2 medium bowls

Method
 

  1. Chop the mushrooms and onion/shallot and set aside.
  2. Cut the beef bottom round steak up and set aside.
  3. In a 12 inch frypan use 3 tablespoons of butter and sauté the mushrooms until golden brown, and set aside.
  4. Add 2 tablespoons of butter to the pan and over medium high heat sauté the beef until brown. Remove from heat and set aside.
  5. Add the shalott/onion and sauté for a couple of minutes. Add the balsamic vinaigrette and wine and bring to a boil. Reduce liquid by about 1/4
  6. Remove from heat reintroduce the mushrooms and taste the sauce. If the sauce needs sugar add the sugar now. pour over beef and enjoy!
