Chocolate chip cookies

Ingredients
  

  • 2 1/4 cups Flour, all purpose or bread flour
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 12 Tablespoons butter (11/2 Sticks) room temperature
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/4 cup 1 packet of Strawberries and cream oatmeal or Quick cooking oats
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1 1/4 cup Chocolate chips 50-70% Cacao

Equipment

  • 1 Electric mixer
  • 1 large bowl 2.5-3 quart for mixer
  • 1 medium bowl 1.5 quart
  • 1-2 Baking sheets
  • 1 silicone spatula
  • 1 spoon for scooping out mixed dough

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350 Degrees F
  2. Mix flour and Baking Powder, Salt and Oats in a medium bowl and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl mix butter with both sugars and mix well.
  4. This is also called 'Creaming the sugars.'
  5. In a large bowl mix butter with both sugars and mix well.
  6. Then add flour mixture in 1/3 at a time, blending thoroughly with each addition.
  7. Then add chocolate chips and mix with a spatula.
  8. Put a heaping tablespoon on the cookie sheet and bake for 9-10 minutes.
  9. At 10 minutes check the cookies. They should be golden brown, if not golden brown place back in the oven and turn the oven up to 375 Degrees and give them 2-3 more minutes of cooking time.
  10. When the cookies are finished place them on a heat proof surface and let sit for 5 minutes. Remove cookies and place them on a wire rack to finish cooling.
