What is a cooking blog without a classic Chocolate chip cookie recipe? That’s right I have to have one. If you like a chocolate chip cookie recipe that is chewy and more cake-like then, this one is for you. There are a few things to know before you start this recipe.
Easy
This is an easy recipe. Just mix dry ingredients together first. Then work with the ‘wet’ ingredients. Add the two together and put on a cookie sheet and bake. By separating the wet and dry ingredients which ensures that everything is properly mixed.
Chocolate
Some people like a lower percentage of chocolate and higher fat content and some prefer a higher percentage of chocolate and a lower fat content. This recipe has sugar in the recipe and a lot of butter therefore I choose a higher percentage of cocoa in the chocolate chip. I have tried different percentages of cacao and anything in the 50-70% will work just fine.
Flour
The flour can be all purpose or bread flour, I have tried both and the final product is just as yummy with either flour.
Oatmeal
That’s right oatmeal, this is the secret ingredient. This is how these cookies stay chewy. I add strawberries and cream flavored oatmeal, because it is a good complement to the chocolate.
