Spinach and Red Pepper Quiche

Here is a healthy recipe for brunch or lunch. This spinach and red pepper quiche is a healthy option for your table. You can speed up the process by using a frozen deep dish pie crust.

What is a Quiche?

A quiche is a savory egg and cream custard in a pastry crust with other ingredients. Typically having cheese as a main ingredient. Quiche is typically served for breakfast or lunch and can be served hot or room temperature. Many will substitute milk for cream, however, the texture and flavor will be different.

You may be intimidated in making a quiche, don’t be. Making a quiche is fairly easy.

How do you get the quiche to look great at the table?

The custard needs the correct portions of eggs to cream. The correct portions are 1 extra large or jumbo egg to 2 ounces of cream. Consequently 4 extra large eggs and 8 ounces of heavy whipping cream.

If you use small or medium eggs: use 5 eggs to 8 ounces of heavy whipping cream. That’s it.

This spinach and red pepper quiche is fairly straight forward.

First you will chop and cook the spinach and red pepper.

Next you will layer the cooked spinach, red pepper and grated cheese into the pie crust. Pour in the custard mix and bake. That’s it. Give it a try! Let me know how your quiche turned out.
